Crab Masala

Ingredients:- 

6 large crabs
5 medium onion
15 pepper corns
2 1/2 cm. cinnamon
6 cloves
4 petals of star anise
 6 red chillies
 2 tblsp. coriander seeds
2 cups grated coconut
6 flakes garlic
 1 tsp. turmeric powder
2 tsp. oil
marble size ball of tamarind
1 tsp. sugar(optional)
salt to taste.

Method:-

 Clean the crabs cut into pieces and remove legs. cut 3 onions fine. pour 2 cups of water in a deep cooking pot and boil crabs for 10 minutes with turmeric powder and onions. salt cut other 2 onion lengthwise and keep aside. in a frying pan, heat oil & fry cloves, garlic, cinnamon, pepper-cons and star anise. stir fry coriander seeds turns brown. remove this roasted mixture from the pan. to the same oil, add the onions cut lengthwise and fry till it turns brown. now add grated coconut and stir fry till coconut also turns brown. keep aside. grind all the above roasted things along with tamarind to a fine paste. add this to the boiled crabs. add 1 cup of water and salt and sugar to taste. boil further till gravy thickens. serve with bread or chapattis or as side dish to meal.

Ready to eat Crab masala with Roti...!
